Thanks for BCMEA Member Julia Albano-Crockford for this great letter template for Music Advocacy for your school & district.
Here are the list of the most updated Guidance Documents for Music Educators.
BC Provincial COVID-19 Health & Safety Guidelines for K-12 Setting BCMEA/CMEBC Guidance for Music Classes in BC During COVID-19 Let's Sing - Safety Considerations and Guidelines for in-Person Singing **Please note - the Ministry of Education document references the BCMEA/CMEBC Guidance for further procedures!** Here are the transcript and audio recording from the Town Hall about Scheduling/Timetabling on Tue June 30.
Thank you to Janet Wade (WJ Mouat Secondary), Christin Reardon MacLellan (President CMEBC, VSO Division of Education, and UBC School of Music) and their team of amazing music educators for putting together the BCMEA/CMEBC "Guidelines for Music Classes in BC" This living document will serve as a guide for all of us as we navigate through the different stages of the BC K-12 Education Restart Plan. This will be updated as needed and may be expanded as new information becomes available.
We are starting a database of teachers who are wanting to help other teachers in the province with all things non-music that occur in our schools (timetabling, budgeting, working with admin, etc.) If you are a teacher who is willing to work with another teacher, please let us know with the link here. OR If you are a teacher needing help, please fill out the form here!
PS It's the same form! From the BCMEA & LSA/District Rep. Town Hall on Monday June 22, a list of concerns were sent up to the BCTF for the Pandemic Planning Steering Committee. All of the notes from the participating districts were amalgamated into a two page briefing notes for the BCTF. The document is listed here.
