Making Music Together, Apartdrive.google.com/open?id=102rSQoVnD1AFubXK0Y2jLELELo371CuR! It is uncertain when we can meet with our beloved bands together in person again, so I have developed a way for us to embrace this challenge by performing music together - apart! This is an opportunity to welcome members into our VIRTUAL band from all over the world! THAT is something to smile about! All levels, all instruments, all geographic locations are welcome. There is a small fee to reserve the seat in order to cover part of the cost of the project. If it is truly a financial burden, the seat reservation fee can be waived. Registration for the workshops is free but required. Check out the DigiMusic website for more details on the music challenge and the clips we have available to compose music to!
Thank you to Kelly Proznick for the resource Solo Voice Unit for Secondary Choirs. It is described as "This is a process based solo singing activity, focusing on the intentional development of individual rehearsal skills and an embrace of all the "lumps" involved in the slow development of a solo song."
Thank you to Jonathan Krueger for this resource Level-Up Singing. He describes it as "An assessment tool that equips students and teacher to measure growth while using Mad-Minutes, Note Pyramids, and Rhythm Boot Camp." All resources have been posted in the Resource Room as well.
Thank you to Jonathan Krueger for creating the resource, Note Pyramids. He describes it as "Series of activities designed to help students identify key signatures, and to write sol-fege into their music. Tonal centre identification and do, re, mi pattern recognition."
Here are the transcript and audio recording from the Town Hall about Scheduling/Timetabling on Tue June 30.
Thank you to Janet Wade (WJ Mouat Secondary), Christin Reardon MacLellan (President CMEBC, VSO Division of Education, and UBC School of Music) and their team of amazing music educators for putting together the BCMEA/CMEBC "Guidelines for Music Classes in BC" This living document will serve as a guide for all of us as we navigate through the different stages of the BC K-12 Education Restart Plan. This will be updated as needed and may be expanded as new information becomes available.
Thank you to Jonathan Kruger for these great resources for choir/vocal classes.
- Rhythm Boot Camp (great for Kodaly rhythm speaking) - The Mad Minute/Note Naming Sheets (great for all music classes. Available for Treble & Bass Clef.) |
